I love this story!

Wow! Great story!! I can only imagine the types of "Craig" stories that exist out there. Very interesting to hear the behind the scenes truth!!

CRAIG BRAUN

THIS STORY (I JUST RECEIVED FROM A JOURNALIST) IS FILLED WITH IMAGINATION, BUT IT'S SIMPLY NOT FACTUAL...IN OH, SO MANY WAYS
PERHAPS ERNIE THOUGHT I HAD PASSED AWAY...
SO HE COULD PUT FORTH THIS SELF-AGRANDIZING, TALE OF JIVE & MISREPRESENTATION!
FRANKLY, I'M SURPRISED THAT
THE REPORTER OF THIS PIECE HADN'T
GOTTEN IN TOUCH WITH ME TO CHECK THE VERACITY OF HIS STORY...GOOGLE ME...I'M THE NAME CREDITED TO THESE PROJECTS...AND YOU'LL HAVE TRUTH NOT SOMEONE'S (LITERALLY IN THIS CASE) PIPE DREAMS!!

Mike Goldstein

Dear Mr. Braun - thanks very much for your recent comments. As I said in my introduction to this article, this was the 2nd interview I have done on this subject - the first was with John Pasche who, as you'd figure, had a completely different recollection. I also said that all I was attempting to do was to allow another player in the story to relay his own recollections and so, of course, I'd like to offer that same opportunity to you. I asked my readers to draw their own conclusions as to the veracity of any of the stories I present; they are, after all, simply someone's retelling of an event that happened a long while back (and, as you know from your exposure to the music business, credits are often-times quite nebulous).
Anyway, I will contact you in an effort to present another important take on the making of this classic imagery - the story continues to unfold! I'd also like to learn more about some of your other work (your Grammy-award-winning cover for the LSO's version of Tommy would be a great place to start).
Thanks again - Mike G

My two sense is that Craig Braun has been taking credit for other peoples talents & works for sooooo long that he wouldn't know the truth if it bit him in the ass...

*True test would be to put them both in a room with a pencil and paper and see which one can draw the image...!!!

Hey Craig, I'm an up and coming Graphic Designer who has been working with Ernie since 2006. From the get-go I was intrigued with Ernie's accomplishments, and early on - quite skeptical. What's funny is that I "Googled" Ernie when I first met him to verify the hype - and it all added up! (Mind you, almost three years before this article was even a concept.) So I took your advice above and "Googled" you as well today. Well, what I continue to find is "Craig Braun, a Talented Actor, Award-winning Communicator, and Marketing Guru". If you dig a bit deeper you will find "Before embarking on his acting career, Craig spent 25 years as a Creative Director and received nearly every major international design award." So I searched for proof of these awards and to my dismay, even on your own website it reads: "This area coming soon!" What the hell? It's no wonder you transitioned to acting and writing because the artists that were doing the work you were taking credit for had already figured you out, and severed ties. You see Craig, Ernie still is an Artist and Creative Director with major accounts to this day, and will be tomorrow. What have you done lately my man? Answer that in all CAPS, and you may find the respect and credit you seek.

Hi Craig why don't you put your pipe dream in a pipe and smoke it! Perhaps it is your ego that once again is getting in the way?? Or is it your deflated ego that is getting in the way?

Either way you are learning you HAVE to give credit where credit is due the hard way... Does that hurt? Sure it does, we all make mistakes... BUT YOU and ONLY YOU are person who will never come clean....

Are you upset that Ernie is finally telling his story in public and it's all over Google and you are not??? Cry Baby Cry...

Dear Braun,

I have been working with Ernie Cefalu for over twenty years and every job and deal he was involved was handled with creativity, care and integrity.

I wasn't there when the Stones lips were done but I know that over twenty years of working together Ernie has always shared credit (even if I didn't contribute very much) and the words of the Greg Braun are meaningless to the story - he's just the guy that got paid for the logo and in Hollywood that may entitle you to except an award or cash your buyout check but it dosen't buy you the right to slander your former Ace in the Hole.

Yeah, Mr. Braun, you know you had Ernie and several others just like him - stashed in your office closet to do that work that you got paid and laid for...leave it alone and be happy you got ALL the cash and learn how to share the glory...JerK!

.GOOGLE ME...I'M THE NAME CREDITED TO THESE PROJECTS...AND YOU'LL HAVE TRUTH NOT SOMEONE'S (LITERALLY IN THIS CASE) PIPE DREAMS!!

Mr Braun
Just because you are credited for these projects does not mean that you are their creator.
That honour goes to the artist. The man who put pen to paper and created the actual image.
That he did not get credit for this all those years ago is a crime.
Your part was to "hawk" that creation and obviously reap the benefits of it's success.
Living a pipe dream...I think you are the one in the dream ...Mr Cefalu's acknowledgment for his work is long long overdue and that you continue to claim it as your own is scandalous...you should be ashamed....give credit at least where credit is due...you have already been compensated in monetarily!!

First of all, let me say that I really enjoyed reading the interview with you on the Rolling Stones lips logo ( in Uncovered ). Fascinating interview.
I will no longer associate Craig Braun with the Stones logo.

Logo Design
