Former music TV executive launches online art gallery - specializing in music-related fine art - with a gallery exhibition & sale in Huntington, NY 12/10/2005
The Huntington Art Center at 11 Green Street in Huntington Village will be the site of a comprehensive art show and sale beginning Saturday evening, 12/10/2005 from 6-10pm (and running through 1/31/2005) displaying iconic music industry-related artwork (illustrations & photography) for musical acts such as Pink Floyd, Jimi Hendrix, Bob Dylan, Led Zeppelin, The Grateful Dead, The Sex Pistols, Santana, The Who, Genesis, The Ramones, Cream, Blind Faith, Peter Frampton, David Bowie, Audioslave, Mars Volta and many others.
The show will feature over 30 works of art from many of the best-known graphic artists and photographers in the music business, including Richard E. Aaron, Jay Blakesberg, George DuBose, John Entwislte, Richard Evans, Karl Ferris, Jeff Gaither, Brian Griffin, Elliott Landy, Manuscript Originals, Bob Masse, Stanley Mouse, Paul Natkin, PlasticGod, Jamie Reid, Carlos Santana, Storm Thorgerson/Hipgnosis, Paul Whitehead, and others.
Of special note – those attending the show opening will receive a specially-produced, limited-edition exhibition print, with artwork created by noted illustrator, Jeff Gaither.
The exhibition is being curated by the RockPoP Gallery, a Huntington-based online art gallery who’s Web site – www.rockpopgallery.com – will be launched to the public on Friday, December 2. The site features nearly 200 different works of art, with prices ranging from $50 to $2500.
Mike Goldstein, RockPoP Gallery’s founder, has had the privilege of working with a number of these artists and photographers on projects related to his previous roles as Vice President of Interactive development and production role at Fuse, the NYC-based music video TV network and as V.P. of Interactive Production for Fuse’s parent company, Cablevision Systems.
